Is a form of meditation that focuses on the individual’s current physical state. Through guided suggestions and relaxing tones a person is able to release the stresses of their day, elevate their mind and feel at peace. Along with stress release and peace of mind other benefits include the following.
Is a form of focused relaxation that allows access to the unconscious part of the mind. This is the part that holds data, past experiences and deep-rooted habits. Entering the state of hypnosis is much like “dozing off,” your conscious mind drifts, allowing positive suggestion to enter into the unconscious mind and stay there.
Before all classes begin your Coach will discuss the purpose of the day’s class, what will be suggested and how it will work. She/he takes time to answer all questions and helps you feel as comfortable as needed (those who do not feel they would benefit from the class are asked kindly to step out so as to allow the rest of the group to gain full benefit from the hour).
(Bringing your own Pillow from home is encouraged however pillows are provided if needed). After finding yourself comfortable you’ll begin to relax the body and mind. (The more relaxed you are, the easier it is to absorb the experience) This is achieved by using a combination of slow and deliberate breathing, counting and visualization.
Once you are relaxed and your attention is focused inward, you’re able to accept suggestions without distractions. The Coach then speaks suggestions aloud to your unconscious mind. (As long as your unconscious mind believes these suggestions are beneficial for you, it accepts them easily and creates your life from then on to reflect the new change)
After all suggestions have been made you are guided out of hypnosis and enter back into a normal waking state. Usually by counting 1-5. During the count you’ll often receive a few enlightening suggestions about coming back, such as, feeling refreshed, relaxed, simply wonderful.
You must want to change and be motivated to do so. Hypnosis does not work against your will. If ever a suggestion is made that is contrary to your beliefs, lifestyle or desired state you will most likely wake up or not retain the benefits of the session. -this is why asking all questions at the beginning of class is so important.
When you are able to allow your mind to relax you turn off your analyzer, your curiosity, your critical self and then allow un-resisted change to begin. You no longer “hold back,” because nothing is there to hold you back. The Subconscious mind is then able to take in information without the conscious mind “filtering” it out. The suggestions made to the unconscious mind are then able to be more powerful and lock in place, encourage lasting change.
